Watch this quick walkthrough before submitting your project:
Days of Caring is Southern Arizona’s largest volunteer event, bringing together thousands of passionate individuals—just like you—who roll up their sleeves to make a real, lasting difference in our community. In 2025 alone, more than 1,063 volunteers completed 105 projects, contributing over 5,056 hours of service to local schools, nonprofits, and neighborhoods.
Volunteers painted and revitalized classrooms, assembled hygiene kits for individuals experiencing homelessness, created literacy kits for young learners, landscaped community gardens, and cleaned up parks and public spaces. These hands-on efforts not only improve lives but also build connections and strengthen our shared commitment to Southern Arizona. Days of Caring proves that when businesses and individuals come together, the impact is truly transformative—one project at a time.

FAQS FOR PARTNERS:
Who can submit a project?
If you’re a registered nonprofit, public agency, school, or community-focused organization in Southern Arizona, you’re eligible!
What if I’m not a 501(c)(3)?
No problem! Schools, PTAs, government agencies, and community-based organizations are all welcome to participate. When registering, just choose “Register as an Organization” to get started.
What if my project is longer than 5 hours?
Please break it into multiple shifts – volunteers can easily sign up for multiple if they wish.
What should I include in my project description?
A great project description helps volunteers know what to expect! Be sure to include:
– What the volunteers will be doing
– Where and when the project takes place
– What to bring or wear (e.g., gloves, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes)
– Any physical requirements or age restrictions
Think of it as a volunteer’s day-of guide. The clearer and more inviting, the better!
Do I have to provide supplies?
Not necessarily! Many projects work with what’s already available, but if you do need tools or materials, all organizations may apply for a $$ stipend to help supplement project costs – that form will be sent out after the project submission window closes. Please reach out to daysofcaring@unitedwaytucson.org if you have questions or want to troubleshoot.
Can I reserve my project for a sponsor or Eller team?
Yes! After all projects have been submitted, Eller College of Management and confirmed Days of Caring sponsors have the opportunity to reserve projects that align with their interests and timeframe.
What happens after I submit my project(s)?
Once submitted, our team will review your project and either approve it or follow up with feedback. Approved projects will:
– Be published on the Days of Caring portal
– Be promoted to volunteers across Southern Arizona
– Be eligible for a $100 stipend (or entered into a drawing for a $500 stipend if submitted by the early bird deadline) once they have completed the liability waiver and submitted a Certificate of Insurance (view a sample COI here)
We’ll send you final prep instructions closer to the event date — and we’re here for questions along the way!
FAQS FOR COMPANIES/VOLUNTEERS:
How do I sign up to volunteer?
Volunteer sign-up opens in September! You’ll be able to browse and register for projects across Tucson and Southern Arizona — perfect for individuals, families, and teams. No account needed to browse, just pick a project and sign up when you’re ready.
Can my company reserve a project?
Absolutely! If your business wants to volunteer as a group or support a specific organization, let us know. We’ll help you match with a project that fits your group size, timeline, and values. Company reservations are a great way to build culture and show community support.
How can my company sponsor Days of Caring?
Sponsorship opportunities are available now! Sponsors have first pick of select projects to have their teams volunteer, receive promotional recognition, and show their commitment to building a stronger Southern Arizona. Interested? View the sponsorship form below or contact us at daysofcaring@unitedwaytucson.org for details.
Can kids volunteer with us?
Many projects are family-friendly! Each project listing will note whether children or teens can participate, along with any age restrictions. We encourage families to volunteer together, but always check the description first or reach out to the volunteer coordinator with questions.
What if I can’t stay for the whole time?
We get it — life is busy! While we encourage volunteers to stay for the full project to support the host organization, you can reach out to the volunteer coordinator to discuss. If you know in advance you’ll need to leave early or arrive late, try selecting a project that better fits your timeline or contact the host organization to coordinate.
