When disaster strikes or unforeseen challenges arise, United Way of Tucson’s Emergency Relief Fund is there to help. Your donation provides immediate support to individuals and families facing urgent needs such as housing instability, food insecurity, and access to healthcare. By contributing, you play a crucial role in ensuring that vulnerable members of our community have the resources they need to recover and rebuild. Your generosity helps us respond quickly and effectively to crises, making a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Community Impact:

More than 150,000 families and individuals in southern Arizona are challenged by work and school closures, wage disruptions and restricted access to basic needs.

This fund was established in 2020 to provide emergency funding during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today it is used to bring immediate assistance to children, families, and older people in need. People who have been laid off, or are unemployed, low-income, homeless, underinsured, and struggling to make ends meet. A heavy focus of the fund is providing rental and utility assistance to help bridge gaps for people in immediate danger of eviction and unstable situations. Funds raised are distributed to partner agencies and go directly to helping local individuals and families in our community survive during emergency hardships. Our efforts will continue as we work towards creating a housed and equitable Southern Arizona.

Emergency Housing: Temporary shelter and housing support for those displaced by disaster or financial hardship.
Food and Essentials: Access to food, clothing, and other basic needs during times of scarcity.
Medical Care: Emergency healthcare services, including hospital care, medications, and mental health support.
Utility Assistance: Help with paying utility bills to prevent disconnections during times of financial crisis.
Disaster Recovery: Support for long-term recovery efforts after natural disasters or other large-scale emergencies.

This fund is flexible to meet the emerging needs of people in this fast-changing environment. Together, we can help each other and our community emerge stronger than ever.
