Family Support Alliance

Who we are:

Southern Arizona Family Support Alliance (FSA) is a broad collaboration of non-profit organizations, school district-based programs, and government agencies providing services to families with young and school-aged children. FSA was established in 2009 and has worked to develop a support system of programs, services, and coordination and collaboration efforts to ensure that families residing in Pima County are able to raise healthy and happy children.

Family Support Alliance has a membership of more than 40 individuals affiliated with over 20 organizations and agencies with United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona serving as the backbone agency and administrative home for First Things First grants funding family support services.

Meet Lucia:

The Family Support Alliance anchored at United Way of Tucson is uniting quality services that strengthen families with young children. Home visitors provide families with parenting education, community resources, & family assistance. One of our home visitors, Lucia, was working with a family of eight, that includes six children.

“In early 2021, the mother came down with COVID-19 and had to stop working. She has continued to be sick since then, so much so that her husband also had to stop working to take care of her and the children. The medical bills were piling up and the family was struggling when the Family Support Alliance stepped in.” Their home visitor connected the family to utility assistance from the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 fund along with other resources to help the family through this difficult time.
