This month we’re spotlighting Joseph Serritella, GDL Tucson & Santa Clara Lab Manager and a dedicated champion of the Texas Instruments United Way campaign. Since first getting involved with United Way in 2015, Joseph has helped inspire generosity, volunteerism, and community engagement within his organization. His commitment to strengthening Southern Arizona reflects the spirit of partnership that makes United Way’s work possible. Read on to learn more about Joseph, what motivates his involvement, and why he believes in giving back to the community he calls home.
How did you first get involved with United Way?
I first got involved in the United Way Campaign in 2015. I was inspired by the ECL (Employee Campaign Leader) at the time on how they brought everyone together within our company to accomplish the goal of making an impact with our community at my first Day of Caring event.
What makes United Way such a special organization?
The United Way of Tucson fosters a culture of community and togetherness. No matter the location, area or the community in need Tucson comes together to support each other thanks to The United Way’s leadership within our community
What would you tell someone considering a donation to United Way of Tucson?
“We do well when we all do well” and a donation, whether it is volunteering or monetary, to the United Way of Tucson gives back to those in need of support within our community so they can make an impact.
What do you love most about Tucson?
Tucson is a diverse city from Food, the environment and most importantly, the cultures. Tucson is a melting pot where I’ve learned the importance of working together to keep the city vibrant for our future generations so they can experience the same excitement when I first witness the Catalina mountain range, had a Sonoran Hot Dog, visited downtown Tucson or supported their first United Way Days of Caring event at a local community in need of support.
