Does the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Apply?

Yes, United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona is a qualifying organization for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, which provides a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $421/individual or $841/couples. This applies only when donating to the Helping The Working Poor Fund which supports job-skills training, affordable childcare, educational opportunities, emergency services and more, to the Working Poor in our community. The code needed to claim the Qualifying Charitable Organization tax credit for an umbrella organization is 20726.

How does United Way Turn $1 into a $5 impact?

Every $1 goes further because of the collective approach and strategic networks United Way has in place. Investments are amplified locally by collaborating with non-profit partners, utilizing volunteers and by apply for federal and national grants that bring new dollars into southern Arizona to help build a thriving community.

How and where will my investments be used?

Investments made to the Collective Impact Fund directly support local work to improve education, financial stability and healthy communities. Funds go to direct services such as the VITA program, partner organization allocations, collaborative partnerships like Cradle to Career and programing efforts such as the ELDER Alliance. Approximately 300 community leaders from throughout Southern Arizona evaluates the best funding uses and give expert recommendations. Every funded initiative provides quantifiable results and are held to a comprehensive list of standards.

What does collective impact mean?

Collective Impact occurs when organizations from different sectors agree to unite together to solve complex problems using a structured form of collaboration. United Way provides the space and structure to support these efforts and dedicated staff to guide the vision and strategic development to work towards large-scale social change. United Way’s efforts help to align activities and establish shared measurement practices to build best practices, leading to the most community aligned and robust programs and services. Tocqueville Society

TOCQUEVILLE: $10,000+
Founded in 1984, the United Way Tocqueville Society is an opportunity for passionate individuals to become more deeply involved in United Way’s mission. The Tocqueville Society recognizes local philanthropic leaders who have devoted time, talent and funds to create change in our community. The Tocqueville Society was founded in honor of French historian Alexis de Tocqueville, who visited America in 1831. His most important observation was that Americans help each other in times of need. In Tucson and Southern Arizona, Tocqueville Society members demonstrate how generosity today impacts the generations of tomorrow. Last year, United Way’s Tocqueville Society raised $1,285,090 for Southern Arizona.
