Young Leader Spotlight
🌟 Emily Bressler
Meet Emily Bressler:
Public health professional and YLU Member!
Each month, we check in with a young leader in our community to share their insights and inspire our members.
Tell us a little about yourself:
Hi! I’m Emily Bressler, originally from Savannah, Georgia, and now proud to call Tucson home. I’m a public health professional with a passion for community engagement, equity, and strategic communication. I have a Master of Public Health from Georgia Southern University and am a Certified Health Education Specialist. When I’m not working, I love doing crafts and taking workshops with Tipsy Picaso, Tucson Clay Co-op, or at the local library. Fun fact: I once helped launch a youth-led social media campaign that was recognized by the CDC.
How did you first get involved with YLU & TYP?
I got involved with YLU/TYP because I was looking for a way to connect with other young professionals who are passionate about making a difference in Tucson. After attending a mixer, I immediately felt welcomed by the energy and dedication of the group and knew I wanted to be part of it.
What was the most valuable thing you’ve learned as a young professional?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that collaboration is key. Whether I’m managing a grant-funded program, organizing a campaign, or building partnerships, the success of any project depends on strong relationships and shared goals. I’ve also learned the importance of showing up, being adaptable, and always staying curious.
How do you get involved in your community?
I stay on the lookout for volunteer and mentorship opportunities. Making small connections here and there can lead to really meaningful experiences down the road. Whether it’s helping with a local event, joining a campaign, or simply showing up to support others, I believe every little bit of involvement matters.
What do you love most about Tucson?
Tucson has an incredible sense of community and creativity. I love how the city embraces local artists, diverse cultures, and community-driven initiatives. Whether taking an art class at the library or joining a clay workshop, there’s always a way to connect and be inspired. Plus, nothing beats a Tucson sunset.
